Annelies Exner, nicknamed Anne, is a character in Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey.
Annelies is the head librarian of the Observation Institute, an organization that collects information from adventurers. She is of high social status and is extremely serious about her work, but also clumsy. She can read ancient texts and is very knowledgeable.

Firis meets her when returning a precious book she dropped by accident while crossing the Traveler's Grove. After that, Firis finds her again in Flussheim, where she has to stay temporarily since the waterspout is blocking the way to Weisslark. Finally, thanks to the ship made with alchemy, she can return to the headquarters of the Observation Institute.
Annelies appears as a key character in several questlines, providing new recipes at several occasions. After fighting Palmyra enough times, Annelies will reveal Palmyra's true identity, which will trigger her ultimate form.
