The Atelier series is a series of role-playing games developed by the Gust Corporation since 1997, primarily for the PlayStation series of consoles, though the games have also been ported to other consoles and some portable versions have also been made. The series was only released in Japan until 2005, when the 6th main title was released in the US and Europe. The word "Atelier" is a French loan word which means "an artist's workshop". Each of the games feature an alchemist as the protagonist and item creation plays a heavy role in the progression of the game.
