Piana is a character appearing in Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland and Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland. She also makes a small appearance as a helper in Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World.
Piana is a young and curious girl who will greet Totori when she arrives at the frozen Frontier Village in Atelier Totori. Despite her coming from a village in which the inhabitants are meant to be sacrificed, Piana is a cheery young girl who craves excitement and seeing the world beyond her village.
She is not afraid to speak her mind, and is quite adventurous. After the events of Atelier Totori she comes to consider Totori and Ceci as her older sisters. She grows up to become one of the few alchemists in Arland, and hopes to be able to spread the knowledge of alchemy further throughout the land.
Piana can also be mischievous, and handles alcohol very poorly.
Role[]
Atelier Totori[]
Piana becomes a stowaway on Totori's ship in the latter portion of the game, and from then on resides at Totori's home. She becomes fast friends with both Totori and Ceci.
Piana refuses to return home to her village as she would eventually be eaten by the tower devil, Evil Face. In trying to sort out this problem, Totori stumbles into the path of defeating the devil. However, even if the player defeats Evil Face, Piana will keep living together with Totori and her family throughout the rest of the game.
She is also taught alchemy by Rorona, who tells Piana that she is a natural at alchemy. Totori grows jealous of the constant attention Piana gets from Rorona and Ceci and her alchemy talent. This chain of events eventually leads to the "Still a Child" event and trophy.
Atelier Lulua[]
Now an adult, Piana has become an alchemist (taught by Totori) and has a student under her, Elmerulia Frixell, the daughter of Rorona. She runs a travelling wagon workshop, and is assisted by Chim Dragon. This travelling workshop soon comes to house Lulua and her allies as well, as they journey through Arland during the course of the game.

In Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland Piana can be used as a party member or support, her weapon is a Chakram. Like Lulua and Rorona, she can use Interrupt.

Trivia[]
- The in-game encyclopedia entry for one of her weapons in Atelier Lulua reveals why Piana uses chakrams instead of a staff. She used to venture out with her older sisters a lot, which made it more efficient for her to use a different weapon than them.
- In Atelier Lulua, she says that she swore off alcohol after her first drink led to her passing out completely.
