Hidden Paradise
"Behind Nio's grave in Herb Garden-Depths, I saw a shining arch. Did the ruin's functions start working? I decided to investigate. Beyond the light, I saw a place and monsters I've never seen before, so I better prepare myself before going in any further."
— Atelier Ayesha Goal - DLC: Hidden Paradise

Hidden Paradise is a dungeon only found in Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk. This is the second of two special dungeons that can only be unlocked through downloadable content, the first being Cow's Paradise.

Ayesha can find the portal leading to this special dungeon as a shining arch behind Nio's grave found in the Depths of the Altugle Herb Garden. Unlike the calm, tranquil theme in Cow's Paradise, Ayesha finds herself in a mysterious ruin surrounded by nothing but calm waters and fog, along with four doors leading to four main areas: Fire, Wind, Earth, and Water. As Ayesha continues to explore the ruin, the ruin itself becomes to climb higher and into the sky as Ayesha reaches the doorway to Hidden Paradise-Wind, where the first boss,Whirlwind awaits. After defeating Whirlwind, Ayesha can reach to the doorway leading to Hidden Paradise-Sky, and finally Hidden Paradise-Mind high in the sky; Where the second and last boss,Old Castle is at. After defeating Old Castle, can look around to find a doorway bent forward due to a massive tree spouting out from the ground with two cauldrons inside its roots, gigantic arches beyond repair just out of reach, and a background filled with clouds high above her and fog below the cliff.

It is the only dungeon in the game that the player is able to gather every material in the game, including rare ones and has every monster in the game, including the monsters found in Cow's Paradise, along with the ones only found here such as Cobalt Gear, Jade Beast, and Packer. Though the dungeon is formally unlocked right after you show Marion and Linca around the herb garden, it recommended that you wait till post-game to fully explore the dungeon, due to the monsters becoming tougher when reaching Hidden Paradise-Fire and you'll need to significantly upgrade your ultimate equipment and items.

Trivia[]

  • Hidden Paradise was released for the U.S. in May 2013, for the price of $3.99 just one month after the release of the first special dungeon, Cow's Paradise.
  • It is the second dungeon obtainable through downloadable content that gives the player the ability to gather every material and fight every monster in the game, the first being Makina Domain in Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland.
  • Just like in Cow's Paradise, if you bring Odelia along and talk to her at the lake, she will mention that there is no information on this dungeon anywhere in the Zweiteturm due to the two downloadable dungeons not being part of the story line and that she thinks that the Hidden Paradise was originally built to protect the environment. Also, if you bring along Marion and talk to her in Hidden Paradise-Water, she'll mention that the cauldrons scattered around there look like hers and wonders about the reason they were abandoned.
  • After beating Old Castle in Hidden Paradise-Mind, if you look closely in the background among the clouds, there's a silhouette of a mysterious building off in the distance. One possible theory is that its the Altugle Herb Garden, showing that the Hidden Paradise might actually be closer to Ayesha's workshop than the player thought, despite there being no natural, large body of water anywhere in the game; other than Cow's Paradise which has a small lake.
